Just bought a 'Diamond' phone card from the local milk bar (it was the one the Chinese owner uses) - 3c per minute to China. Note that the call costs to mobiles are immense (perhaps Chinese sim card will be better) but to land lines should be pretty cheap.
So here are some useful phone numbers:

Hope these work (sorry Caroline I don't know the Yang Dong hotel name.
